INTERESTING MODIFICATION TO START WIRE

At the 2004 NATS Marvin Mace of Seguin, TX showed me a way he uses to make it easier to start the timer when the engine is screaming, your fingers are oily, and the adrenaline is pumping. I like it, and wanted to share it with all the model community.  Marvin's idea is so simple, I wonder why others have not already done it. All he does is select an appropriate diameter brass or aluminum tubing and flatten it so it can be slipped over the standard start wire. He puts some epoxy in the tubing, and then crushes it firmly over the wire. As a final step, Marvin files the edges a bit to round them and make it "finger friendly". He placed first in several events, so it works well for him. The same modification would work with any of our timers.
